Kuala Lumpur, 26 February 2026 – Dato’ Sri Dr Haji Irmohizam Ibrahim, Group Managing Director of World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL), has been appointed as a Member of the Board of Directors of International Islamic University Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin (UniSIRAJ) for the term effective 1 January 2026 until 31 December 2027.

The appointment was endorsed and formally presented by Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, Raja Muda of Perlis, in his capacity as President of the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs), during the Iftar Gathering of MAIPs Council and Committee Members held on 25 February 2026 at Hotel Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur. The conferment was witnessed by Tuanku Dr. Hajjah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, Raja Puan Muda of Perlis.

Strengthening Governance and Institutional Growth
UniSIRAJ operates under the governance framework of MAIPs and plays a key role in advancing Islamic education and institutional excellence in Perlis.

Dato’ Sri Dr Haji Irmohizam also expressed his intention to enhance UniSIRAJ’s local and international visibility by expanding strategic collaborations and strengthening its position as a forward-looking institution.

He highlighted the importance of integrating academic excellence with industry relevance, noting that leveraging platforms within the global business events ecosystem could create opportunities for knowledge forums, business conferences and Islamic finance discourse.

With extensive experience in corporate leadership, governance and the international Business Events industry, he is expected to foster stronger collaboration between the education and industry sectors.
