Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships between Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and various sectors to address the needs of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) domain. As the UniMAP chancellor, he advocated for a proactive approach in identifying and solving the immediate and future challenges of the domestic sector.

During his speech, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin stressed the significance of UniMAP taking a leading role in pinpointing specific issues affecting the TVET sector. By fostering closer ties with government agencies and private entities, the university can gain a deeper understanding of the sector's requirements. This collaborative effort is crucial for developing targeted solutions that cater to both present and long-term needs, ensuring the relevance and sustainability of the TVET landscape in Malaysia.

The call for increased collaboration comes at a time when the TVET sector is navigating through a transformative phase, with a growing need for skilled professionals equipped with practical and technical knowledge. The Chancellor's vision for UniMAP involves not just academic excellence but also a strong emphasis on real-world applicability of research and innovation. By working hand in hand with industry and government, UniMAP can contribute to the creation of a robust workforce ready to tackle the challenges of the modern economy.

The push for enhanced collaboration between UniMAP, government bodies, and the private sector has the potential to revolutionize the TVET education landscape in Malaysia. It underscores the importance of academia playing an active role in economic and workforce development, particularly in sectors that are crucial for the country's growth and competitiveness on the global stage. As UniMAP takes steps to heed the Chancellor's advice, the future of TVET education in Malaysia looks promising, with the prospect of producing graduates who are not only academically proficient but also highly skilled and industry-ready.
