Raja Muda Perlis: Institutions Must Continue Helping Orphans

KANGAR: Family institutions have been urged to play a proactive role in assisting orphans in various ways such as protection, education, finance and welfare, says Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail (pic).

He added that the efforts should be carried out continuously in line with religious obligations.

“Orphans are the next generation and like other children and teenagers, they also need attention and support in shaping the future.

“In this regard, I hope to see family institutions and community work together in continuous efforts to support these children from various aspects, particularly love, welfare, education and finance,” he said in a statement issued by the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) on Saturday (April 9).

He said this when meeting the orphans from the Kota Raja Arau Kariah (parish) at the Arau State Mosque on Friday (April 8).

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra, who is also the MAIPs president, witnessed the handing over of community contributions amounting to RM20,000 by MAIPs chief executive officer, Mohd Nazim Mohd Noor, to the state Social Welfare Department director, Mohammad Hazam Ismail, on behalf of four orphanages.

At the same event, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra also witnessed the handing over of a hearse donated by Syarikat Ummul Travel And Tours Sdn Bhd for the use of the Arau State Mosque which was received by the state grand imam, Ustaz Ahmad Sirajuddin Abdul Satar.
