ARAU – Aidiladha prayer is allowed to be performed in Perlis, but in compliance with the prescribed standard operating procedures (SOP).
The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, who is also Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) president said the prayer could be performed only at mosques or vacant areas which had been given permission by the State Islamic Religious Affairs (JAIPs) to do so.
“Several mosques will also be given permission to hold the Aidiladha prayer more than one session,” he said in a statement today.
He said members of the congregation would be required to comply with the prescribed SOP, including social distancing, register their names, wear face mask, bring their own prayer mat, take ablution before arriving at the mosque and to ensure they do not have symptoms, like fever.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said the mosques for the Aidiladaha prayer would open at 7.30 am and the prayer would start at 8 am with a 15-minute sermon.
“Since the coming Aidiladha falls on Friday, members of the congregation who perform the Aidiladha prayer can choose whether to perform the Friday prayer at the mosque or Zohor prayer at home,” he added.
