Shar‘i Meaning (Islamic Legal)
Waqf refers to any property in which the right of ownership by the donor is withheld from transactions such as sale, inheritance, gift, and bequest, while maintaining its physical substance for charitable purposes, with the intention of bringing the donor closer to Allah SWT.
Cash Waqf
Cash Waqf refers to endowing wealth in the form of cash, which is collected in a trust fund under the management of MAIN or a trustee (nazir) entrusted to manage the waqf for the purpose of financing welfare and charitable activities.
MAIPs Cash Waqf
The MAIPs Cash Waqf provides an opportunity for Muslims to perform the act of waqf through monetary contributions, which will be channelled into waqf projects for the benefit of the Muslim community in the state. Through this cash waqf scheme, Muslims regardless of being poor or wealthy are able to contribute to charitable endowments according to their ability and sincerity.
Objectives
To revive and strengthen the practice of waqf, which is highly encouraged in Islam.
To provide facilities and alternatives for the community to participate in waqf, even without owning permanent assets.

General Benefits
This General Benefits Cash Waqf will be administered by MAIPs Management for any waqf projects that can be utilized, such as in the areas of health, education, social welfare, and others. The distribution of benefits will be based on the needs and considerations of MAIPs, as the sole trustee of waqf and trust assets.
How to Participate in the MAIPs Cash Waqf Scheme
Salary Deduction
Salary deduction for Federal Government staff (Code 4474) and State Government staff (Code 4318).
Cash Waqf Fund Boxes
Contribute through Cash Waqf fund boxes placed at selected mosques throughout the state of Perlis.

Contribute your cash waqf through the MAIPs Payment Portal via the link below or through Bank Islam FPX.
Special Cash Waqf
This Special Cash Waqf will be administered by MAIPs Management for the implementation of Qur’an and religious book waqf, to be distributed to the community and those in need.
This Special Cash Waqf will be implemented with full trustworthiness by MAIPs Management for the construction and maintenance of mosques. The distribution of benefits will depend on the needs and considerations of MAIPs as the sole trustee of waqf and trust property. This is in line with the Decision of the Perlis State Fatwa Committee:
The Perlis State Fatwa Committee unanimously agreed that zakat funds may not be used for the construction of mosques, except in situations of dire necessity where there are no other sources of funding, and the mosque functions as a da‘wah centre for the community, such as in cases where Muslims are a minority. Such permission is subject to the prioritisation of zakat recipients (asnaf). Muslim leaders must bear the responsibility of ensuring adequate mosques for the Muslim community.
This Special Cash Waqf will be implemented with full trustworthiness by MAIPs Management for the maintenance of Muslim cemeteries. The distribution of benefits will depend on the needs and considerations of MAIPs as the sole trustee of waqf and trust property.
This Special Cash Waqf will be implemented with full trustworthiness by MAIPs Management for the construction and maintenance of the Perlis State Autism Centre on MAIPs waqf land at Behor Lalang, Simpang Empat.
This Special Cash Waqf will be implemented with full trustworthiness by MAIPs Management for the construction and maintenance of any Community Centre that provides benefit to the ummah. The distribution of benefits will depend on the needs and considerations of MAIPs as the sole trustee of waqf and trust property.
